Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution

As a child’s social development progresses and he/she frequently engage in social interactions, conflicts are likely to arise and increase. Disputes require adult intervention to resolve. As children learn to empathize with one another and accurately communicate their feelings with words, conflicts may be resolved on their own by yielding to, negotiating, or disengaging play with another child. Research has shown that the ability to identify problems, develop goals, generate solutions, evaluate, and select effective solutions leads to socially competent behaviors.
